Be sure to check back -- or better yet, enter your email in the box on the right to "Subscribe" to our blog feed and get emails when we publish a new post. Now, let me share Burtons exciting gluten free menu additions for the month of May and how you can enter our Giveaway...
Burtons Grill is one of the places our family makes a point of visiting when we visit family in the Boston area. With ten locations on the East Coast (5 in Massachusetts, 1 in Connecticut, 1 in New Hampshire, 2 in Virginia, and 1 in South Carolina), chances are, there's one near you or in a place you travel.
This "casual upscale" restaurant chain offers one of the more extensive Gluten Free Menus (both for lunch and dinner). This month, in honor of Celiac Awareness Month, Food and Beverage Manager Dan Greenough has modified some options that aren't typically available for gluten sensitive guests, without changing their flavor profile.
Rather than give you a list of them, I'll share this Infographic which details Burtons Grill's limited-time offerings:
Whether you make it in for a visit in May or down the road, you'll have plenty of tempting choices in front of you. The Virginia Beach and Mt. Pleasant, MA locations even have a "Burger Bar" (eventually to be rolled out to all their locations) in which almost their entire burger menu is available with a "gluten sensitive" option.
You'll see on their main Gluten Free Menu that there are some items in black print and some in teal print. The black items were developed to be naturally gluten free. The teal items have been modified to be gluten free (for example, by removing croutons, substituting flour, using gluten free pasta).
The staff at Burtons Grill (both kitchen and servers) has undergone strict allergy training on Celiac Disease and all food allergies, including gluten, nuts, dairy, soy, eggs, seafood, and shellfish, just to name a few. Burtons Grill's CEO Kevin Harron remarked, "In an age where our consumers are not only health conscious but also dealing with one and sometimes multiple food allergies, we thought it was important to incorporate both a menu as well as a philosophy that our guests could beleive in. The Celiac Awareness Month menu attests to our commitment to high standards and constantly challenging ourselves to create dishes that are both safe and delicious."
