Gluten Free Giveaway: My Dad's Cookies -- Gluten Free, Of Course!

My dad's cookies gfEvery so often, a company sends me samples of a gluten free product to try. Recently, I was contacted by My Dad's Cookies, a company I wasn't familiar with and whose products I'd never seen.

I agreed to try them, and WOW...was I glad I did! These are the closest thing to traditional Italian bakery cookies I've seen (and they're gluten free, of course).

IMG_2021The box arrived, and inside were small boxes of many of their gluten free cookie varieties: Raspberry Linser, Chocolatta, Black and White, Chocolate Sandwich, Vanilla Graham, Chocolate Chip Biscotti, Lemon Drop, and Chocolate Chip. I was so excited to put them all on a big platter to show my son (actually, both my sons...I knew the non-GF son would be just as excited about sampling as my Celiac son!).

Needless to say, they passed our taste tests with flying colors! My favorite were the Raspberry Linzer, and my sons liked the Lemon Drop and Chocolatta (which reminded us of a small, round version of Pepperidge Farm's Milano cookies).

My Dad's Cookies was started by Elan Malina to give children with Celiac the same cookie treats they see their friends enjoying. Because these cookies look and taste like ones they see in bakeries, kids (and adults!) won't feel like they're settling for something inferior...and won't feel left out. These are cookies you can serve at family gatherings, parties, and special occasions -- and no one will ever suspect they are gluten free!

ElanElan is proud to say that after 3 years of perfecting the recipes, he is able to make these cookies available online and at select retail establishments.

The cookies are certified gluten free, dairy free, nut free, and Kosher Parve. They also have a few other varieties we didn't try -- but that look and sound delicious: Chocolate Fancy, Cranberry/Orange/Vanilla biscotti, Coconut Chocolate, and Cinnamon Biscuit.

I think these cookies would make a FANTASTIC birthday or Holiday gift for any gluten free folks in your life.

Elan said their cookies are available at Whole Foods Markets, Fairway, ShopRite, and other gourmet markets. But if you can't find them at a store near you, you can order them online at where they have the largest selection available (all their flavors). They are $6.95 per 6-oz box. The company is based in Brooklyn, NY and can be reached at 718-788-8870.

I'd love for YOU to be able to sample some of these beautiful and delicious cookies, too, so I asked My Dad's Cookies if they'd agree to send a sample pack of 6 varieties to the winner of a giveaway here on our Gluten Free Travel Blog. They agreed. So all you need to do to qualify to be entered in the giveaway is submit a comment below -- or a comment on any of our other Blog posts.  We will select one winner at random from all the people who submit a comment (each separate comment counts as one entry) by the deadline Monday, September 29, 2014, at 11:59 pm Eastern time.

Good luck!
