Travel to the Galapagos Gluten-Free -- and Worry-Free!
March 09, 2016
In her quest to present a world of travel opportunities to her gluten-free clients, travel agent Ellen Morse of Gluten Free Travel-Us has just developed a gluten-free, worry-free itinerary for the Galapagos Islands, with a chance to explore the treasures of Quito, Ecuador en route.
Ellen was diagnosed with Celiac herself decades ago, so she is more familiar than anyone I know with the challenges that travel can bring. As more people have gotten diagnosed with Celiac -- and as they've become more comfortable with the thought of traveling -- Ellen has found her niche. She has used her worldwide knowledge and contacts developed as a travel agent to make travel safe even for Celiacs like herself.
Ellen has shared many of the itineraries with us on our Gluten Free Getaways page...opportunities for travel to Prague, Croatia, China, Japan, India, and Costa Rica. She even has two itineraries (one leisure and one more adventurous) for biking through the Tuscan and Piedmont countryside of Italy. Of course, she is also extremely well-versed in helping gluten-free clients plan trips to other popular cities throughout Europe.
Her newest itinerary, probably the most spectacular, is an opportunity for travel to the Galapagos Islands -- and to explore the wonders of Quito, Ecuador on the way.
As with all of Ellen's itineraries, this one can be totally customized based on your desired time of travel, length of stay, budget, and interests (i.e. this is not a group tour). In fact, you can spend more or less time in either place. The itinerary we showcase on our Galapagos and Ecuador page of GlutenFreeTravelSite strikes a nice balance between visiting Quito and all its colonial splendors (as well as staying at a beautiful hacienda) and exploring the Galapagos Islands, an archipelago of volcanic islands straddling the equator west of Ecuador. Home to the Galapagos National Park and Galapagos Marine Reserve, these islands are where many unique species of plants and animals make their home.
As always, Ellen has worked with local experts and guides to ensure her gluten-free clients will be kept food-safe throughout their journey. This is not something Ellen compromises on...if she is unsure of a destination's feasibility for gluten-free travelers, she won't suggest it. She has made arrangements for her clients' meals in both Ecuador and the Galapagos. The Galapagos portion of the trip can either be done according to her posted itinerary OR as a shipboard experience, if that's your preference.
To discuss the various options and pricing, give Ellen a call. There's no pressure...it's a great way for her to get to know your interests and travel preferences. Whether it's helping you plan your customized version of this incredible Galapagos journey -- or helping you with another destination on your "bucket list" -- Ellen will be your new gluten-free best friend!
